Garmin continues to build up its nüvi 7xx series portableGPS navigators with its nüvi 755T, which adds a number of handy routing and communication features to an already impressive list of specs, including a 4.3-inch widescreen display, text-to-speech capabilities, media player, and FM transmitter for transmitting audio--including directions and MP3 music and audiobooks--from the device to your car radio.New to the nüvi 7x5 lineup is Garmin's HotFix satellite prediction (which locates your position quickly and precisely), Lane Assist (which provides lane guidance and junction views when possible), automatic time zone transitioning, and 3D Building views as well as Garmin Connect Photos to help you visually ascertain your position. Additionally, the nüvi 755T includes free real-time traffic updates from Navteq (for the life of the device) via the included GTM 20 traffic receiver. The bright, 4.3-inch touchscreen display gives is anti-glare for ease of viewing during the day and automatically changes its color profile for easy viewing at night or in dim light. It offers 2d or 3D perspective views. The widescreen format gives you 70 percent more actual screen area than a 3.5-inch screen. Primarily this translates into a better view of the area through which you are driving. This is especially useful in showing you what parks, restaurants, ATM, gas stations, etc. are nearby, or in letting you know whether a detour is a good idea. Also, the device itself is larger, meaning controls on the screen are more widely spaced and somewhat easier to push.

The Garmin 755T is as advertised - - an excellent navigational tool, which is all I will use it for. I don't need an MP-3 player, won't use it with my cell phone or display pictures on it. I haven't had it very long but observations to date are:
(1) Easy to install
(2) Intuitive to operate
(3) Display is large enough and of excellent quality
(4) Volume could be higher
(5) Like all GPS', it does not work well thru the vehicle speakers.
(6) Would like it to provide (ala Magellan) a "ding" feature when turns, etc. are completed.
(7) Being able to disconnect unit from mounting bracket w/o pulling the power/antenna cable is a convenient feature. Having to connect the 120 vac wall charger thru the mounting bracket is not.

Garmin Nuvi 755T is a good GPS except its touch screen.
I read about touch screen issues before I bought this product, but I ignored thinking it could be some user fault. I was wrong. The product indeed suffers from touch screen issues.
I often had to press screen multiple times to make my selection work and also often it clicks wrong positon that is well over 1-2 inches apart from the actual positon I pressed (touched). It wasn't screen calibration issue at all as this problem wasn't fixed after screen calibration. It looks like it is issue with the touch screen hardware itself not the software.
It was extremely frustrating when entering street names. I realized mistypo and had to press erase button and of course pressing erase button would type another wrong character instead of erasing one.
I am not sure if this is really an issue for all units, but it seems many people complain about this based on postings on other internet forums. Other Nuvi 7x5 series seem to have the same issues.

I did a lot of research before buying this item. I liked the fact that live traffic is included. However, it's not available everywhere and it's not very accurate. I read that people said it was pretty fast. Mine is not! Sometimes it takes more than 3 minutes to find the satellite. Sometimes it gives me directions when I'm half way to my destination, as I always look for direction online (just in case!). It doesn't give me the commands on time, so sometimes I make wrong turns, as it tells me to make a right when I already made it. What's worse... A couple times it did not find addresses, when my friend that has a different model could find them no problem. I'm talking about well-known intersections. Sometimes the voice commands don't work, so I have to look at it. Sometimes it asks me to take a street that dead ends before getting to the next turn. I like the fact that it calculates the time I'm going to arrive to my destination, and so far that's what I've been using it the most. I don't trust it much as to go somewhere relying on it. And if you don't know the address you're going to, forget about the GPS find the place for you. I've looked for places like "Cheesecake factory", "Chase", "Fashion Valley Mall", etc. but it didn't find them. And the 3-D feature never worked. I guess it just works in certain cities. I live in San Diego and nothing! I don't care much about that, though. It's my first GPS so I can't compare it with any other.

I purchased the Garmin 755 for my wife for Christmas 2009. She uses it daily, and has had no trouble. We recently used it on a long trip through the state of Georgia, and had no problems finding our way around. This GPS does seem to find the curviest roads, but the estimated time feature is accurate and useful.
Lane Guidance is the main reason I purchased this model over comparable models. We have only seen it used twice, once in Macon, GA and once in Atlanta, GA, both times on the Interstate.
The traffic alert feature works great and alerted us of upcoming traffic ahead on the interstate as well.
Overall, its worth the extra few dollars.

Does the basic functions. Touch screen is slow to respond, with an additional odd behavior: if you are "typing" at speed, the entered letter/number is often a character across the screen. i.e., there is no way that you could have accidentally touched that character.
Sensitivity is very good. The unit can just be laying in the seat, and has no trouble getting the satellite signal. Much better than my hiking Garmin GPS, or the old Magellan auto GPS that the 755T replaced.
Battery life was poor when new, and 4 months later will not last for 10 minutes without being plugged in. The "4 hour battery life" must be a joke, or maybe they mean with the unit switched off.
Routing is sometimes poor, and lack of a "most use of highways" option will result in odd routing at times.
Bottom line: would have been a product to rave about 10 years ago. In 2009, you have to wonder how such a large company could still not address some of the basic issues.
