Just simply finding the menu to settings and programs is difficult. The Quick Guide is all there is no additional information on how to do anything, no instruction. The Traffic avoidance, just doesn't work properly - Can't find alternative routes when there is a traffic issue or accident. It only says traffic ahead (hahaha) i know that.
If I had knew this was a refurbished unit I would not have purchased this item. My mistake. Hopefully, I can return this unit and try to find something more easy to navigate.

I've used it for a month of driving in to Chicago and around the burbs. I appreciate the Bluetooth connection to my cell phone, allowing hands-free answering. I saw that it was receiving traffic info, but there was never any to report on my routes, so no comment. I've tried a few different "voices" and found the Aussie one easiest to understand.
It did lose its location a couple of times and had to be shut off/restarted for it to find itself. On restart, it worked fine.
It leaves a trail of roads travelled, so I can see who my son visited when he goes out!

I cannot say how the traffic works. I work in rural Maine. I bought this before I started the new job. Without it, I would be lost(pardon the pun). It works great on the twisting winding roads in Maine. The bluetooth works well with my Motorola V195 phone. That was my main reason for buying this specific model.

Packaging from Amamzon was poor at best. Though the item was advertized as 'Refurbished' which we all know means 'dusted off'. The Garmin box wasn't sealed and the Amazon shipping box was poorly packed with very little packing material. When I opened the shipping box, all of the individual parts of the Garmin kit was strewn all over the place. Fortunately, there wasn't any damage and the unit seems to work fine.

I bought my Garmin Nuvi 265W for use in the fire service. I have a Garmin hand held GPS which is excellent so Garmin was my first choice for purchasing a GPS. Nevertheless my first experience with a vehicle GPS was with a Tom Tom which I liked. I figured that Garmins GPS would be superior to the Tom Tom. What I discovered was that the Garmin had a difficult time finding itself, It would make you go through a series of prompts to get you going, The unit from start up asks you every time where you want to go rather than "waking up" and telling you where you are. It also does not give you many choices if you misspell words ( yeah I know go to school) but for my use trying to spell out of a dead sleep at 2am is really challenging. The good news for people who are wanting to purchase this product is that this unit 's graphics are excellent, once initialized it is very accurate and fast and stays locked on the map. You can see all kinds of geographic features like lakes and tributaries. It even marked out a small man made pond in a new housing development in my town. The suction cup attachment works much better that the Tom Tom version( which really bites). If super speed (in initial start up)is not a need this Garmin is for you. If you need to get to your destination now and I mean right now this unit is not for you.
