nüvi 255 comes ready to go right out of the box with preloaded City Navigator® NT street maps, including a hefty points of interest (POIs) database with hotels, restaurants, fuel, ATMs and more. It even announces the name of exits and streets so you never have to take your eyes off the road. Simply touch the color screen to enter a destination, and nüvi takes you there with turn-by-turn voice directions, 2-D or 3-D maps and smooth map updates as you navigate. Its digital elevation maps show you shaded contours at higher zoom levels, giving you a big picture of the surrounding terrain. In addition, nüvi 255 accepts custom points of interest (POIs), such as school zones and safety cameras and lets you set proximity alerts to warn you of upcoming POIs. With HotFix™ satellite prediction, nüvi calculates your position faster to get you there quicker.

this is my 2nd garmin and I love both of them, I bought this one because my girlfriend uses my old one all the time and we had to keep tranfering from one car to another, this garmin 255 tells you the street name your turning on

We using this product regularly and it works just fine. The smaller size is nicer in my car than the larger units. The only disappointment is this product does not come with a users manual. You need to download the document a print it yourself - hopefully you have a printer.

This was a gift from my big sister, because I travel from the south to the northeast on a regular basis. this thing worked right out of the box! The first day I tested it to see what it would do and used it to go to work. I changed from whatever directions it was giving me and took shortcuts and it redirected me as it should have. I love my GPS!
